Adding in mana costs in addition to steam generation (but not locking out steam generators once the meter is full) gives that back to the class. That's kind of how it works now but because you WANT to generate steam and can ALWAYS vent there's no real resource management for forged at the moment. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be doing any class reworks. It's definitely possible but you need to have one point in the train for the buff. IMO the classes are all half baked with some good ideas that aren't explored fully. The Railmaster is actually not very customizable and the train was supremely nerfed when they reduced its size by like 50% but didn't scale up the range on its weapons/shield car. Honestly, it is the worst designed of all the classes.įorged also shouldn't do ranged and melee together since the trees internally synergize and use different weapon slots, it is actually detrimental to waste any points as a melee forged in ranged and as a ranged forge all you need is Ramming Robot to get out of tight spots and maybe the force field for defense. It's a rotation not a balance and since Dark has several "set and forget" abilities that generate light charge, it's really just "Light Mage with Dark Spears or later Entropy" as the de facto correct build to maximize charge. You push up the light bar, trigger it, then push up the dark bar, trigger it, then push up the light bar. The Duskmage does not have to balance resources. The ammo mechanic is interchangeable with mana. The sharpshooter is mostly bog standard archer skills with a few interesting if nonsensical summons like the goblin army and the ball of rats. The endurance mechanic is like an ex meter in street fighter only you dont choose when to use it. With the railmaster you get a huge buff just for having s train nearby so one point in building a train is basically mandatory (indeed they assign your first point to it). The ranged tree for forged is also underbaked and the chest cannon is a dead item slot if you go melee. The vent abilitied are more powerful the more heat you use them with and their cooldowns match up with the rate at which you can generate heat. The heat fills up as you use most abilities and then you use a vent ability to dump it. It feels underbaked.įorge heat mechanic is like Rage not like mana. You just fill up one side, trigger it, then fill up the other side. ![]()
